This group is not a competition it is a chance to challenge yourself and each other. Goals are personal but by sharing you will help yourself and others to succeed!
This pregnancy has been soo different from the last. I put on 15 pounds right before getting pregnant with the first. This one I have actually lost 3 pounds! Not intentionally but I guess with the nausea and not feeling well. I am now 13 weeks so I'm supposed to gain some in the next few weeks. I've been having a hard time with the healthy eating and excercising. I've been so tired and I crave things like McDonalds breakfast sandwiches and hasbrowns.! Grease! Hopefully these next weeks will be better but going to club med should be interesting!

My goal is a bit different as I am not to be losing weight at the moment due to being pregnant. It's also difficult because I can't start a new workout regime. What my goal will be is to start walking with my son more often. Just to get out and walk! Simple but easy and something that I can do and it doesn't cost anything! My goal will be to get out at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I hope to be able to not gain as much weight as I did with my first so walking should help combined with good old healthy eating!
Best of luck everyone and thanks for sharing!

That's my goal too! I am gaining so much weight with this one - way more than with my son. So I am being really conscious of what I eat and how much I exercise. How are you doing? Are you finding it is working for you?

Oh and you should look into "Prenatal Fitness Fix with Erin O'Brien" it is a dvd I found on Amazon.ca It is a really great workout video 40 min in length. Unlike some other videos I have tried, this is actually a workout and it is nothing complicated or strenuous. You don't need any equipment - just a chair and space in your living room. You could talk to your dr about it but as I said she doesn't do anything complicated or strenuous. She is apparently certified as a prenatal fitness expert and she herself is pregnant in the video. I really like it!

That's great! Thanks. I'll check it out. I did prenatal aqua yoga at my local pool last pregnancy and LOVED it! It really helped keep me stretched and loose. Helps with the achy muscle and to relax. It was in the evening in the warm pool. I took it for 18 weeks over the winter and cooler months. I think I will sign up for the next session starting after March break! I met lot's of great moms too!

Yes, i'm a grandfather now and I have a fitness goal too. Believe it or not, when my wife was pregnant with our twin girls, twenty some years ago, I seemed to gain weight along with her. As my wife craved icecream, I got her one and one for myself. This continued and I gained over 30 pounds. My wife was quite lucky as she was not one to gain weight. She was all baby and soon after labour, she return to be her same slim self. Dads have after-baby weight to lose too!!! As age advances, being overweight has led to high cholesterol levels. My goal is to start eating foods that lower bad cholesterol and walk 30 minutes a day...rain or shine. I'm not aiming to lose any number of pounds in particular but feel better about myself and become a healthier ME or myself, my wife, my children and most of all, my grandchildren. Good luck with all your goals and the trick to being successful is to set realistic ones.

My goal is to lose some pre-baby weight. Against all conceiveable odds, including an indulgent diet and family history I didnt gain much weight during pregnancy and that I did gain left with the baby. I had my son on November 11th of 2009 and want to get down to a healthy BMI by June, which entails losing 10 kg. I bought myself a Wii as a Christmas present (my husband and I otherwise do charity gifts only) and will attempt to drag myself the seemingly long way to the pool (its in our building). I am trying to do 30 minutes of cardio everyday. So far I have made it 3 out of 4 days! Courtney, Hamilton, Ontario

I set up the goal but forgot to add mine! My goal is to tighten everything up, I with you on the six year pointing out my wobbly bit, thanks a lot kid! But he is right I could look and feel better with a little effort and few less cookies, chocolate ...not to mention red wine. I'm not going cold turkey off anything but goinf to make more healthy food choices and dust off the Wii Fit. I'm so glad to have this group for support...and to remind me to keep at!

My goal is to lose the baby weight! I gained, a hearty 90 lbs during my pregnancy with my first and only child! The time has come for me to get serious with myself, about my overall health. Being a stay at home mom with a bouncy and vibrant two year old who always keeps me on my toes, literally - requires zoodles and zoodles of energy - no matter how effortlessly your children make it look!! Also, some health issues have resently presented themself, which have caused me to take a real hard look at myself and my environment. 2010 WILL be my year! The year of becoming healthy - seriously! I have 60+ pounds to lose (I lost 30 lbs the first month after my daughter was born). So, I am taking it all in stride, one day ... one step at a time. My goal is to get on board, and wii for minimum 10 minutes a day - to start. Working myself up to 20 and then 30 minutes a day. I have also noticed how happy stretching and exercising makes me feel and it truly does give me energy! Cheers feeling good! Wish me luck!

I love that you have set up a goal of 10 min of Wii a day, I'm going to set that too. I've heard just that small amount of exercise can make such a huge difference!

My goal is to be physically active for at least 1-2 km everyday! Sounds like a lot, but with my work and dog and active 2 year old, I should be able to do it!

Hi! My goal is to try to achieve a more healthy weight and lifestyle. And also not to hear my six year old son "Mummy I love seeing your tummy wobble!"
