It took us quite some time before deciding on the right place for our son. With serious food allergies, having strict policies and procedures was what finally sealed the deal!
Hardest thing I feel like I had to do and now I have to do it all over again. I took my daughter out of daycare while I have been on mat leave and now I have find another one. They will have been on the waiting list for 24 months at the old daycare but does not look like they will get in.
Yes, it's actually like a full time job looking for preschools.I'm not in the actual stage of going thru it right now but i do understand your frustrations.
It took me months and months of being put on waiting lists and visiting about 10 different centers. I had finally decided on Montessori -Rowntree - and it had been the best decision I had ever made.
The choices these days regarding options for early schooling are tremendous! It is unfortunate, however, that in rural communities, parents are not given such grand choices. Rather, us parents band together, consulting the various school choices, and make changes in our own (and only) dear playschool in our area.
The article in Toodays Parent was very good. It helps give an idea of where you think your child would best fit. Just make sure to check into all the possible locations in your area. My daughter will be attending Montessori but we looked into 4 in the area to find the one that best fit her.
