Fun and Safe Hockey came to Oakville Ontario last weekend and my daughter was lucky enough to be invites. What an amazing experience for her. At first mommy and daddy were the most excited but once there and she met Bobby Orr and Cassie Campbell she was super excited. She had on ice time with both of them as well as off-ice classroom time. Watching her interact and learn from these hockey superstars was amazing. This is her 3rd year of hockey but being only 6 she is just a beginner to this awesome sport. I think that it is fantastic that Chevrolet, Bauer, Hockey Canada and of course Bobby Orr and Cassie Campbell are dedicating so much time and effort to the grass roots of the sport of hockey.
Bringing the message of fun and safety back to our national sport is such an important thing. The clinic also offered parent sessions were the essential message was keep it fun and allow your kids to play for the right reasons. Hockey should be fun to both play and watch and really as most things are as a parent it is about the kids.
This is was an experience that truly will be a lifelong memory for my little hockey player. Hope one day my son who was too young this year will be able to attend. Thanks Fun and Safe Hockey. Mommy and Daddy are still so excited she got to experience this event.
