Not sure about this whole Twitter thing?  I wasn't either but now it is a part of my life and I am addicted!  For business and pleasure Twitter keeps me more in the loop on things than I have felt in years.  Many people ask what is Twitter and why would people want to know what they are doing?  Okay so honestly no one cares if you are heading off to the grocery store, but if you found a great deal at the grocery store, or something funny or profound happened to you at the grocery those are what you share on Twitter in a tweet. 

What's a tweet?  A tweet is your thought in 140 characters or less.  Trust me it really makes you think about getting straight to the point.  If you have a link to a website you think would be of interest to others you can add it and shrink it to keep it short and sweet. 

RT, DM, #FF, @weewelcome?!  Twitter is a conversation, so join in!  Share your thoughts but that would be boring if everyone just said what they wanted and didn't comment on others' tweets.  Tweet comments on people's thoughts to them and before you know it you have a conversation going on with people you may never have had the chance to otherwise.  I saw a RT from someone about a mom who was pregnant with another couples' embyro and commented on it, then I got a tweet from Leslie Roberts at Global news saying to watch the news at 11pm for the whole sad story.  Leslie Roberts tweeted me and now follows me!  Okay so it's not like Britney or Ashton tweeted me but still!

Enter RT,DM, and #FF.  RT, Re Tweet is how you give credit to something you thought was interesting, funny, or just worth sharing and giving credit to the original Tweeter. 

DM, Direct Message, is for private direct messages that only you and the person you send it to or received it from can see. 

FF, Follow Friday, on Fridays you can thank or give a shout out to the Twitter world on who you enjoy following and why they should follow them.  Just be sure to put the hash sign (the number sign #) in front of your #FF and the @ in front of all the Twitter names. 

@weewelcome, that's our Twitter name, everyone has to have an @ in front of their name.   When tweeting if you want a message to get to someone that sign has to be in front of their name.
