I received a Baby Trekker baby carrier for free from a line-dancing segment we did on The Mom Show where they had us wear them (with babies) while line-dancing. This carrier has been the only one I have found that offered enough support to carry a baby right from infant on up to 20 plus pounds.
You can wear baby forward-facing or inward-facing on your front, forward or inward facing on your back, and in a sling position while nursing or baby is sleeping.
The super wide straps criss-cross over your back and the extra-wide waist-band helps to evenly distribute the weight throughout your whole upper body, instead of just your back, neck or shoulders (like the Baby Bjorn!).
This is a super carrier, I have tried a TON of them and this one takes the cake! You can find a local retailer by clicking the Baby Trekker link above the review.
One study gave participants fake names and biographies to study. Then they were tested on what they could remember. Here are the percentages for different pieces of information that were recalled:So names are more difficult to remember than what people do, cheap north face jackets for women what their hobbies are and where they come from. And, you won't be surprised to hear, as we age, most of us get even worse at remembering names.

I had this 7 yrs ago for my eldest. It is ugly but functional. The velcro belt has thankfully been replaced by a buckled waist. But oh, those looong shoulder straps! There are better things on the market now.
And for the poster asking about how it might work for a 20 lbs toddler? I wore my oldest in this when he was maybe 15 months old, and his legs kept hitting me in the thighs. Ugh!
Still, it's better than leaving your kid in a plastic container all the time. Plus your hands are FREE!

I have tried a couple of carriers and i have found that the baby trekker is the best. I hardly feel the weight of my baby on my back.

I found the straps although well padded a bit bulky for me. A bit tricky to put on yourself as well. Other than that great.

I also find it hard on the back and can not do it without help.

Do any of you use the Baby Trekker with a toddler?
My daughter is about 20lbs. I wonder if it would work well for her on my back or if she'd be too big?

Absolutely you can comfortably carry a 20 pounder...even more! I used the Baby Trekker with both my toddlers and it still looks new enough that I loaned it to a girlfriend (who promptly returned it to me and bought her own she loved it so much). Toddlers love the Trekker!

A mom in my Salsa Babies class had the Baby Trekker and she swore by it. It looked really comfortable.
I have the Lascal M1 Baby Carrier (http://www.lascal.se/) and I love it. It's made from bamboo fibre's and has back support for you and the baby. It's a tad bit expensive but it looks like it's going to last quite a while (more than one kid) and it holds up to 30 pounds.

The Lascal is a pretty spiffy carrier. It was just too expensive for us though. We have the Ergo which we love. It goes up to 40lbs! And it supports!

i agree. this carrier is great. not the prettiest but very comnfy and supportive. i am still trying to get used to wearing it on my back but the front carry was great. it is big but folds into a pouch and can be carried around easily.
