This will be my second mothers day. The first I was in recovery feeling rather lousy. I was a mixed bag of emotions and hormones. Liam was about 4 weeks old and I had been put through the ringer. I was not one of those moms who felt instant bliss and joy and attachment. Yes, I was feeling like what did I do and how i am going to cope. I thought what's wrong with me that I'm not filled with joy and happiness. It was a struggle just to get through every day. I'm not embarassed or ashamed to admit this anymore as I now realize i'm not alone and it's normal. The more moms talk about these things the less likely we feel alone.
Eventually, after the weeks kept going by things got better and better. This past year has been such an adventure and lifechanging. I have grown so much and have really loved my induction into motherhood. This second time around on Mother's Day I think I will be a totally different mind set and I will celebrate my accomplishments and joys (and sorrows!) of this past year!
My perfect mother's day this year will be just to spend the day with my family and reflect back on the year while having some fun and hopefully some good pampering too! Neil (hubby) if you read this that could entail breakfest in bed (a momosa would be a nice touch!!), a nice card, flowers are always nice (but your great with that anyhow!) and maybe a nice massage! You really don't need these hints anyhow since your always awesome with that!
I'm wishing all you moms out there a wonderful mothers day full of love and joy!! Have a great one!
