Signing Babies I for babies (and their parents!) from newborn to walking. This 45 minute class meets for for 8 weeks and teaches a minimum of 150 ASL sign taught as well as 15 songs to sign and sing to your baby! Language strategies appropriate for this age also discussed.

Becky Beardsworth is the mother of a beginner WeeHands signer. She has been signing to her 7 month old daughter since birth. Becky is a Queen's University graduate and received her certificate in American Sign Language from Sir Sanford Fleming College in 2007. Becky has experience teaching literacy to the Deaf and working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities and are non- verbal. These experiences have helped Becky to see the importance of communication and the differences it makes in peoples lives when they are given the tools to communicate even the smallest of desires.

Becky remarks, "Signing with your child is a wonderful experience, one that will not only allow you to communicate with your baby/toddler at an earlier age, but create an incredible bonding experience. I am excited for the opportunity to share this skill with parents and babies/toddlers in and around the Halifax area."
