I have been meaning to get on here and blog and be more active but I have just been feeling sick and tired. I never experienced this with my first pregnancy so it feels new again! I was so tired of feeling sick all day long that I went and got a prescription for Diclectin and I am oh so thankful! It hasn't dissapeared but soo much better!! I have been really busy trying to get my work days in for a mat leave that all my energy has gone into get through the day and come home and lie on the couch then sleep. I feel soo terribly guilty because I am just not really there for my son and husband. I am in a fog! It doesn't help that the weather has been gross and grey and foggy lately either. I can tell me son is missing me which is killing me but I have been in auto mode. It didn't help when last Friday we had to put our cat down unexpectately due to a blocked bowel and very expensive surgery and vet bills and an uncertain prognosis. Since my nausea has died down the hormones have now had the opportunity to kick in full gear! Not the best timing for this but that's life!
The last few days I seem to be picking up as i'm more used to the medication and low and behold we've had a few days of sun!! Oh the sun does such wonders for the soul in the winter!! I am seriously thinking we need to book that club med vacation soon! I was reading online that the third Monday in Jan. is the most depressing day of the year, it so happened I was at a low on that day! Since then, however i've picked myself up and I am determined to feel better. There are things we can do in the winter to beat those blahs! Gettting outside for a bit really helps! We decieded to make a trip on the weekend to the local butterfly conservatory and boy was that awesome!! Oh it felt like tropical paradise for that hour. I was in another world. My son and husband loved it too! Highly recommend this!
What do you guys do to beat those winter blahs and cheer up in the mid of winter!??
I am off for my first ultrasound next week and I'm looking foward to the hopefully blissful second trimester period! Before we know it, it will be spring!!

Sorry to here yor having a rough go with this pregnancy. I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my little girl. I was on diclectin my entire pregnancy. I swear it's a miracle pill. I was so sick before that I thought I was going to have a nercous breakdown.
The winter blahs make things worse but like you said it's good to get out. Unfortunately we haven't had much snow but I like to get out with my little girl and go for walks (even if it is only for 10mins because of the really cold days) Other times we have family movie night. It brings us together and no matter how we're feeling watching Isabella enjoy one of her movies makes us feel better.
Good Luck at your ultra sound next week. There is nothing better than seeing your baby for the first time.
Are you going to find out what you are having?
We will find out I think but not till the next ultrasound. I'm finding the diclectin has worked well except lately i'm stil lgetting sick in the evening so I may have to adjust something. I'm also thinking a little vacation might be just what I need!
Hi Laura
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. That sucks so much! I must admit that most days I come home and want to veg/sleep too! And I'm not even pregnant!
I find myself being quite overwhelmed with stuff too lately. Work is so stressful and like you mentioned the weather doesn't help.
You should really book that Club Med vacation! If I ever win I'd be booking that trip so quick. :)
Feel better and enjoy the weekend!

It's just been a timing thing. Due to being teachers we only get certain times but my hubby might be able to get a week off. I also didn't want to go during my first trimester. Little nervous about travelling while pregnant to a foreign destination. I always seem to get sick!!
I think everyone feels this way at this time of year. I'd love to live in a warm sunny climate! Are you going to any of the olympic events?
